Hi! My first post here :) I'm a 40-year old guy from Sweden. I'm diagnosed with Clinical depression and anxiety. Been taking Remeron 45-60mg and Neurontin 1200mg for 10 years or so. I've mainly kept Remeron as a sleep aid, since it's never really helped my depressive symptoms (I guess). I also take Xanax PRN a couple of times a week, sometimes less.
I just got home from an appointment with my psychiatrist, and a new medicine to try out. It's called Voxra (bupropion) here in Sweden. Took the pill, 150mg (modified release) 30 minutes ago along with 600mg Neurontin, and I feel so scared right now... Will my anxiety sky-rocket through the roof? My psychiatrist didn't mention much about side-effects, perhaps because he didn't want to scare me.
What's your experiences with the start-up phase on bupropion?
Regards Jens

Sorry, double post. My browser crashed during my first post, and I didn't think it went through.

Just for the info. I've taken Wellbutrin 3 times in diffrent years. It starts with increasing some energy and motivation but like I said it is known to cause anxiety especially if you alrady have a anxiety condition. Inderal would be good to combined if you choose to stay on wellbutrin.
Also maybe consider Effexor its stimulating but it doesnt have the anxiety the wellbutrin can give. I'm not an expert but at least look at some other options for your treatment.

IT may work differently for you. For me it gave me anxiety and some relief from depression that lasted a few months then it pooped out. 300mg is the a standard dose for depression. I couldnt tolerate more than 150.
Remeron is usually given at small doses for sleep. Something like 15mg or so. Youre probably getting some AD effects from it and at that dose the NRI effects are more pronounced. Not sure if that will make you more prone to anxiety on bupropion.
This is the end of the thread.
