Every since starting EMSAM I have had an angry bladder and bowel - like all the organs in my pelvis have "locked up." Ugh. I am working with it, trying remedies and dose adjustments with some success.
I suspect it is due to over-stimulation of my sympathetic system (adrenergic) - What Stahl refers to as "pseudo anticholinergic" side effects.
What I am curious about is whether these side effects could attenuate over time as my body gets assimilated to EMSAM?
Has anyone had these kinds of side effects from an MAOI, and did they lessen in intensity over time?

I've not heard anyone that has used Emsam mention these issues. Maybe some of the emsam users will answer? Phillipa
