I currently take 5mg of saphris for bipolar depression. It's working a bit too well I'm afraid. Has this ever happened to anyone? I feel revved up after a month. It is supposed to be sedating. It used to be more sedating.
Might my doc double it? Add lithium? The worst would be discontinue and start from scratch.

Some of them have been documented to produce mania. Zyprexa and Geodon are probably more apt to do this than the others. Saphris hasn't been around long enough to characterize it well.

could you add a benzo or increase the dose?

The doc said to double the dose for five days and see what happens. I don't want to add a benzo. I did today just to get by, but I consider that a stop gap treatment for myself. I am wanting to decrease my benzo use.

My second day at double the dose, and I feel so much better:)
If I can do this until Sunday, then resume 5mg again, well, very cool.
