I used to be very skinny with a fast metabolism but after more than a year on Parnate I've gained 40lbs. I've read mixed reviews concerning weight gain. Has anyone had a similar experience or know more about MAOI's and metabolism?

Huh. Parnate is supposed to be similar to amphtemine in some ways. It's one of the few drugs I've taken that had no impact on my weight. But I guess every one responds differently.

I'm also taking Seroquel, which I know is linked to a person's metabolism, but I used to take it a few years back and never had weight gain issues. Maybe my body is just reacting differently this time.

I'm on Nardil/Seroquel (and was on Nardil/Remeron for a few weeks). Only been on the Nardil a month, and gained about 5 lbs over the holidays, which normally doesn't happen (man, ice cream and pecan pie are AWESOME); but did lose some of that since. Long term? Not really sure. I don't exercise much...maybe this will have to change if I gain, even I keep my food intake in check.
Best of luck.
