My most recent med cocktail includes Lithium, Latuda, Viibryd and Vyvanse.
I am adding Tramadol because I don't think Viibryd has quite the umph I need to treat my OCD.
Does this strategy make sense? I'm hoping to boost seretonin, as well as make use of Tramadol's NMDA antagonist properties. I don't care much about the weak opioid effect.

I'd be scared of serotonin syndrome.

How did you react to memantine (Namenda)?
The concern regarding serotonin-syndrome is appropriate. You'll know it when you see it, right?

Is tramadol controlled as a relative said yesterday she is on it for arthritis pain. Phillipa

I've gotten it before and it took a lot more than an SSRI and Tramadol to get me there.

I didn't react too strongly to Namenda. However, after a week of Tramadol I'm experiencing quite a few benefits. My mood is brighter, my OCD is better controlled and my concentration is better.
I have gotten serotonin-syndrome before and I was on way more serotogenic medications.

Eric really? Need something for painful arthritis and my sister-in-law is on it for that. And my ssri consumption is low as you know. It's not controlled right? Phillipa

I don't think tramadol is controlled. It might be like Soma--not controlled federally, but schedule IV in some states--but I'm pretty sure its not a controlled substance.

I've never taken Soma, but I read that it metabolizes into miltown, which apparently leads some people to pop it like crazy.

Since benzos low dose or otherwise seem not to work anymore think this could take their place? As when the panic attacks in 20's started it was Miltown and valium 5mg three times a day that worked. I eventually just stopped the miltown. Never wanted to abuse any of them. Also drank beer with them at time? Phillipa

Hi PJ,
Meprobamate and related drugs are generally less effective for anxiety than benzodiazepines. I don't think you would be doing yourself any favours if you were to take these drugs instead of diazepam.

I know. It really works, though.

I had a phenergan suppository for vomiting after surgery. Just one time dose. I think I remember reading days later the side effects of it and didn't like them at all although at the time I had it it worked for vomiting well. Phillipa
