I have a question for the experts here !! I have been on Abilify for about a week. They last 2 nights I have started having bizarre nightmares. Could the Abilify be causing the nightmares a week into the treatment? If so, is this a side effect that goes away?

My dreams were a bit more vivid with Abilify than before I started taking it. Then again, I didn't really sleep much before Abilify (psychotic mania--Abilify for the psychosis and sedatives for sleep), so maybe it was just rebound dream stuff for me.
I don't know about Abilify, but I think some of the older antipsychotics have weird dream issues associated with them. I think Thorazine can cause nightmares in a lot of people. I would think Abilify could possibly do the same.
Are there any other meds you can take for your problem(s)? I mean, maybe something that's not an antipsychotic?
This is the end of the thread.
