I'd love one of the drug companies to start manufacturing combination antidepressant meds (as they arn now doing for high blood pressured meds)
The ones that spring to mind are
Sertraline + nortriptyline
Sertraline + bupropion
Venlaflaxine + mirtazepine
One pill a day that could realy hit depression hard with an "one-two" knockout punch

If you do a patent search, you may find patents for combo antidepressant treatment for depression (and probably any number of other diagnoses). I can't recall any off hand, but I did see one for the combination of Remeron and amphetamine for depression. Sounds kind of fun, actually. Oh, and I saw one for using taurine to prevent tardive dyskinesia when administering neuroleptics. I now take taurine along with my Abilify--no EPS, definitely no TD.

I think there are a couple of problems here....
1. The combination meds would probably be a lot more expensive than the individual drugs as generics.
2. The doses of each antidepressant normally require individual adjustment.

Neither of those have proved an issue in Australia with blood pressure meds, therre are many pills containing 2 meds (usualy in multiple doseage regimens) and there is one pill that contains 3 BP meds

True, but psych meds often require more individual dosage adjustment. Combination products might encourage a 'one size fits all' dosing strategy which might be bad for patients.
