I imagine that there'll be a lot of variability here, but I was just wondering how people judged whether a med was having a positive/negative effect, particularly when your condition also imparts hefty impairments on cognition.
Naturally, it was easier for me to judge when I was more intellectually active, but not currently being at university or working leaves me in a kind of free fall. I think I just hate the idea that something might be leaving me worse off in the long run without me really knowing it. I'm an (ex)writer and half my vocabulary's already disappeared through the tolls of fighting my illness(es). I'd love to return to the profession someday but just hope that enough of me remains intact.

the irony of that title! sorry i've just taken my nighttime zyprexa dose and am relatively drowsy. naturally that should read AFFECTING your cognition.
