Hope this link opens if not health central has an interesting not deep article given from first tense of bipolar man trying to convey how a teen views bipolar and when refuses to acklowledge just because he wants to be "normal" and fit in. Phillipa

I thought the person who commented had a good point about whether the diagnosis might be accurate. Since BP has been way overdiagnosed in kids, this is a good question to ask.Before anyone pegs me as being antispsychiatry, psychiatrists who are definitely pro meds have said the same thing.
Anyway, we're only getting the mother's version and don't know the whole story.
But even if the diagnosis is accurate, it is alot to ask that a teenager accept the it when fitting in is important to that crowd.
