Starting Uridine, any experiences?

Posted by uncouth on October 7, 2011, at 22:03:02

Hi guys,
I am starting Uridine today, this time coming from an RNA/DNA supplement. I am taking 324mg 3x a day, so i figure that should yield maybe 250 mg daily of Uridine, right?

Has anyone tried this before? For bipolar 2 depression.

I was using citicoline the past few days, 1000mg, but thought that might be too much choline activation, as citicoline breaks down into uridine and choline.

i unfortunately am making lots of changes at once, going off of some supplements tapering down, and adding some other ones in the past week, so i'm not sure how on earth im going to tell which is doing what. but i think these just are good supplements to have anyway.

BUT any experience with Uridine, positive, negative, side effx, would help out!

RNA/DNA is "powerful" stuff! I have taken this stuff before and all I can say is that can be really potent.

Really? can you tell why?
i have decided to put a hold on some trials as it finally sunk into me that i'm not going to know what is working for me if i do too many things at once (duhh) and that adding more stuff will probably just destabilize me.

but i am still interested in keeping uridine as a future trial, we'll see.

for now i am going to give pregnenalone a clear opportunity to work. maybe LDN.

The rna/dna supplement was very good for me at one point. It felt like fish oil in a way, but more potent - some sort of dopaminergic effect.

It improved sleep anxiety and confidence. It also had some procognative effects. It was useful in school for staying afloat. However, it seemed to have some withdrawl and over time might have made me a bit manic (maybe a procholinergic effect) - mind racing a bit, too many goals / ambitions.

I think its a bit like SAMe - fast acting but a bit too intense for some people.

Hi.

Is there any literature to be found on the Internet that involves the utility of using uridine to treat affective disorders?

What is it supposed to do?

Interesting.

day 3 of similar regimen

i'm taking 1g RNA (along with 1g DNA sadly) all at once given my concentration and memory.

i'm taking a vegan DHA supplement "Ascenta Nutravege"; no exact dose, tipping it directly mouth over my already filled a bit with cola.

i figure i am getting 500mg-1g or over of DHA.

i have old but still potent aGPC-choline ("alfoscerate"), i have been taking 1x 250mg both days, haven't yet today. i am careful with it, just recently experimentation with it (higher doses) had me crying in total despair for hours.

idk, i am hopeful as it (this combo) seems to have neuroregenerative properties incl. in animals given parkinsonian damage BEFOREHAND. currently i barely exist in a dysfunctional limbo of only being able to do anything if i take lorazepam, and am stuck tense and writhing bruxing or girmacing otherwise. i have not been able to nail this to anything to years, the closest explaination is that it is tardive (explains the onset; and my early pineal cyst likley increases susceptability) and the explaination that parkinsonism along with oral, akathisia and other nonsense is in fact due to microlesions of GABA-ergic circuitry that disinhibits proper dopaminergic function.

CDP-Choline + Mg Orotate likely to replace DNA/RNA

since they seem to have more proof that they reliably boost uridine levels, have their own supposed benefits, and have less chaff in the way of irrelevant crap that can contribute to gout and the question (and i am clueless) of whether the stomach acid even breaks up the RNA into anything useable or just a sludge of peptides. there seems to have been a focus on certain products needing to diversify their RNA sources that bugged me, suggested unreliability in terms of bioavailability.

i'm not sure what does i would be using, and how they would compare to doses of actual uridine monophosphate and CDP-choline/citicoline and at this point i am a bit stuck. and due to supplement availability issues in canada this pretty much will put me on 3 expensive aor supplements at once, which i am not sure i can sustain; but if it helps me maybe i will have the concentration to order cheaper products online.

i also have to get refill my gamma-butyrobetaine (carnitine precursor legal in canada), which maybe i ought to do before the switch, to gauge whether any of my recent worsening was due to running out of that. ALCAR does have a way of "focusing" stimulants, so you have more control, less overstimulation gaining control over you, and i think GBB suprisingly did offer some of that.
