So, I am doing better since starting testosterone, but am still riding out nicotine/cigarette withdrawal (has nothing to do with the content of this post.)
I've found depression has made me very phobic. I can't afford to pay Comcast what I owe them, and I am sort of stuck going into a Starbucks and ordering one cup of coffee and sitting in there all day to job hunt.
Do I think the Starbucks employees or other customers care? Rationally, no. Emotionally I am horrified. I feel as though I should be making lots of purchases throughout the business day and .. well.. feel like a leech.
I live in a major city, but our city's library system has WiFi as slow as a snail.
Just curious whether anyone else struggles with this. I am going to have to do it to get a job.... the WAP browser access on my phone will never do it; and even with saved cigarette money I still can't afford to pay Comcast.

When I worked at home and started having depression, I bought a laptop and started working at Starbucks. All I ordered was a grande coffee. I would stay for hours. But I live in Boston, where Starbucks and other places with Wifi are filled with students on their laptops not really spending money. I don't think Starbucks cares. In Montreal, where my daughter lives, there are so many more cafes than here and they are all filled with people reading, on laptops, etc. It's just the norm.

thanks for the encouragement... Part of what I've described is as I said, but I think another part is, subconsciously, there is nothing I hate worse than looking for work. Not working itself, but looking for it. I haven't worked since 2008. I'm scared, jobs are scarce. I need to force myself through this fear or I'll get nowhere and make my depression worse.
This is the end of the thread.
