about 10 days now and cymbalta is working but it working on pain more then anxiety. Maybe it is working on anxiety too? I just burried my grandmother who in my heart was my mother. I guess I can't say for sure how well it's working on the anxiety in this situation but damb it's taking my pain away.

It took away 75% of my pain. Did nothing for depression or anxiety for me.
I am very sorry about your grandmother. Maybe you can have an add-on anti-anxiety agent temporarily. That could be a mercy. But real grief. There isn't a pill.
Big Hugs,

True and sincerly so sorry about your Grandmother. Assuming you are referring to emotional pain as no pill for that. Phillipa

Have you thought to add nortriptyline to Cymbalta?

Thanks for the thought, Scott. I couldn't tolerate the gastritis induced by cymbalta, though gave it 8+ weeks. The gastritis itself was disablingly painful. I was in a small unlucky percentage. The pain relief was so remarkable, however, if it wasn't for that deal breaker, I would have dealt somehow with the cognitive muffling that also occurred.
I think it's a great med, and I'm hoping torrid's trial is successful. Maybe
there will be a nice AD effect for him or her w/o cognitive sx. I suspect snri/nri's are a troublesome area for me, full of promise and fraught with sx :(I'll get there despite the trials :-)

Phillipa no, my phyisical pain is greatly reduced but I'm out of depression. My emtional pain is just normal greif. I feel a great sence of relief that I no longer have to worry about my grandmother. She raised me and over the last couple years our roles revirsed, she became my baby, we use to laugh about it. The funeral was a wonderful send off and she lived a very long life. I can't say if the cymbalta is helping my anxiety due to the loss of my grandmother.

This is the first time I'm on busbar and I can't say if it is or isn't helping. My dose I think is 10mg 2x day. It gives me a bad taste in my mouth so I tryed 5mg 2x day and bad taste went away. I am so much better but it could just be the cymbalta, my anxiety isn't under control but it's better too. big reduction in pain that's nice for me. next I'm going to have doc raise my concerta and see how that works out.
