3 days on busbar, zoloft for 5-6 weeks. I think the busbar is working, zoloft sure wasn't. I know it's suppose to take 2 weeks but I always react quickly to medication. 10mg twice a day is that alot? I'm tired and sorta unmotivated wich is not like me, anyone have simular experience?

BuSpar is weird. Its kind of like taking a really low dose antipsychotic. Carries a small risk of tardive dykinesia, I think.
Anyway, even when BuSpar itself doesn't work, it can sometimes boost an antidepressant. Before prescribing atypical antipsychotics became the thing to do, Buspar was commonly used for that. Maybe it still is, I dunno.
I took 60mgs (my doc was not so great, lol). It really didn't help, but then again I was on benzos beforehand. It did make my antidepressant work a bit better.
Good luck.

Torridcalm, what symptoms are you addressing? (I don't know about the dosage.)

I think that buspirone is an underestimated medicine. The reason is that this drug doesn't offer immediate relief.
I have been on buspirone for 18 years. Most of the time I have taken 40 mg of this drug, but now I take 20 mg in the morning.
I'm also on 1 mg (0,5+0,5) of flupentixol, which does a great job with my anxiety.

anxiety, 10 mg twice a day, for 11 days now, I'm much better but I think getting off the zoloft is what's making me better but it could be busbar. That's why I hate making more then one medication change at a time. My doc and I have never does this before, made multiple changes, but I was in such bad shape.

So torridcalm, you don't have an AD on board?
What are you currently taking? (I lost track.)
Changing more than one med at a time is less than ideal :P
But it sometimes can't be done any other way.
So would you say your basic trend is toward improvement?

48 hours on cymbalta, 11 days on busbar, concerta since it came out and very, very small amount of benzo's and flexiril short term. I'm getting better, I'm starting to repack the bomb, laundry, dishes, vacuming but can't handle opening mail and managing my affairs yet. how are you?

>I'm starting to repack the bomb,
You're what? I like that, but don't really know what it means :)
>laundry, dishes, vacuming but can't
handle opening mail and managing my affairs yet. how are you?Opening mail, kinda' of. A stack of bills to submit to insurance. You'd think they were printed on lead the way I just put
that task off. Laundry, well, I can get it
on and out of the washer and dryer. I get stuck on sort and fold.I was going to write that I'm not functioning very well, which is true. I am lucky to have a husband that likes to
vacuum and can work (and has low housecleaning standards--lower than I). I do take credit though for pulling my kid through a rough year of homeschooling. I really had to swim upstream with that, and it really ate so much emotional and psychic energy. But am I really functional? Barely. But improving.
I wish you really good luck with the cymbalta. How is it so far? It really cut
my fibromyalgia pain significantly. Gastritis was finally the deal breaker :(So concerta is out of your mix? Is it similar to strattera? (I ask because that med just about did me in, but I have no idea why.)
Let's keep improving. Maybe if we make a pact :D ?fb

I hope to fold and put away my laundry tomorrow, like you I get to the folding part and then step over the pile of clean cloths until it's comilgeled with dirty cloths and back in the wash.
straterra is a non stimulant NRI that's very hard on the liver my liver can't take it. I take concerta except when my anxiety is out of control due to the rebound anxiety. concerta has been very good for me. I'm getting better and I exspect the cymbalta to work well for me until it poops out. I'm going to take a couple days off a week of the cymbalta in attempt to avoid poop out. I hope to be OK soon and not need benzo's, my doc will give me 10-15 temazapam 30mg per month, when I'm ok that's plenty. I'm afraid of rebound anxiety from benzo dependency so I like the way my doc only gives me small amounts, glad your moving in the right direction.

Torrid, I don't think cymbalta works that way, does it? I mean that one can take days off. I didn't know that. I always thought it was another snri cumulative type thing.
So concerta is different. Interesting.
Yes, my clothes are commingled :-/

Wow. Lyrica works for you. Does it reduce anxiety for you?
Your cocktail, the amounts are nice and low. What a relief for you to throw off the yoke of 37 years of elavil!

That's a great usage for lyrica.
It helped me avoid snri discontinuation :)
Best to you, too!

There is new thinking about combating poop out. In stead of raising the dose or switching taking drug holiday peridically. when I'm stable in a month or so I'll intermittenly take time off, a day a week I've read but I'm skeptical that a single day off a drug will prevent poop out.

I read that remeron helps the wellbutrin not poop out. Gosh I miss the person I was on wellbutrin.
I'm on busbar for a couple weeks now, I'm improving but couldn't say how much improvement is due to busbar.
You you think busbar is helping you? I'm still very confused about busbar, how it works together with other AD's

Buspar works best in conjunction with another AD.
This medicine is good for GAD and anxiety.
I think this drug has a stabilizing effect on my psyche.Best regards,
