Posted by poser938 on March 16, 2011, at 19:09:53

so i've been dealing with some really bad anhedonia for a year and a half since i too mirapex. that med wiped out my pleasure feelings. :( i'm going to a psychiatrist here soon but i've been doing research to find what might be able to help me. i've read about 2 meds called sulpride and amisulpride and how they can be used for somethin im going through. i have to order it online because i live in the U.S. does anyone have experience with these meds? what kind of side effects di you notice?

I've used amisulpride several times. Ordered it online from overseas.

Anti-anhedonia? Yes it did that for me. A complete cure? No it didn't do that for me. Takes time like other meds? Yes. Side effects for me were purely sexual....lack of interest and almost no ability...likely due to increased prolactin. This doesn't happen to everyone, but is common enough with amisulpride to be mentioned. Other than that, no side effects at all except maybe a slight dry mouth sometimes.

I am a fan of amisulpride. It is one of my few emergency meds....it can actually lift me from the dumps and have me feeling a lot better about 6 hours after taking it on the first day. Longer term I just lose all sexual ability, so sadly I can't do that.

I've played with different doses. My best dose was 12.5mg per day, or 12.5mg every other day.

you really think the lack of interest in sex was from the prolactin increase and not somethin else the med might do i just dont understand all the much about autoreceptor blocking at a low dose or whatautoreceptors are?im already experiencing lack of interest in EVERYTHING! med side effects stay with me. im so numb to pleasure.. i just need amisulpride to help. i just need to get my dopamine receptors upregulated/sensitized.

I've used amisulpride. In low doses (50mg or less) it has pro-dopaminergic effects: increases libido, improves mood and motivation.. Ive only used it incidentally. Sulpiride is supposed to have the same mechanism in low doses.
