It is sedating, it does cause weight gain, and I imagine it could cause some cognitive impairment, at least when you first start it (I don't know how it affects cognition over the long haul).

:-(

Sorry

Hi I live in the UK & take Mirtazapine

This is my understanding of Mirtazapine/Zispin(UK):

Intially it impares cognition, due to Anti Histamine effects & so on.......
However in the long term it may actually inhance cognition, once your body gets used to the H1 Blockade

It deffinetly does make you Fat however-as I can attest!

Didn't make ME stupid, in fact after 10 days my concentration was a lot better than it had been in a long time. That faded however. It does make you hungry about an hour after taking it, so try to get in bed as soon as you can after you pop it. It did make me start sleeping longer after a few months. It was really annoying, but once I woke up I wasn't any lazier than normal. I would think adding it to effexor would be a more effective and stimulating combo.
