Which would be more affective at treating OCD symptoms? Abilify or Invega/Risperidone?

Even though antipsychotics are commonly used for OCD, any such use is "off-label," so its hard to say "take this one," since none of them are FDA approved for OCD.
I personally take Abilify for Bipolar I. In my own experience, Abilify has fewer side effects than risperidone. I've never taken Invega, so I have no idea how the side-effects would compare; I would imagine they'd be comparable to side effects from the Risperidone.

I have read some studies using risperidone for OCD. Positive results were seen, but I don't recall the statistics of efficacy. However, risperidone seemed to be superior to the other APs. Some work is now being done looking at combining fluvoxamine and risperidone. My guess is that paliperidone (Invega) would act very similarly to risperidone since it is the primary active metabolite.
Good luck with your research.
