Placebo to treat you?

Posted by tepi on October 24, 2010, at 21:04:19

Has anybody here tried to use a Placebo , cheat your brain and see if it works to have a better quality of life?
I dont why , when I take fish oil I feel better the same day , then the next day Im going down again. The same happens with , Shyhtroid or Citomel also when I take supplements like Multivitamins , and often when I increase the dose of any AD . One Doctor told me It was a placebo effect
What about trying all this stuff , each one in a different day to see if you have a positive effect. Maybe a pill with any active substance
Cheat your mind... do you think that is clinically possible?

Hi Tepi, I can't answer your question. But I notice that you take Synthroid and a multivitamin. Make sure that you don't take them together. The iron in the multivitamin will prevent the Synthroid from doing what it is supposed to do. I usually take my multivitamin at night just in case.

Tepi didn't know you also had thyroid problems. Have you had your levels checked recently? Taking one hour before any food or vitamins is ideal. My MVI doesn't have iron. And to answer your question I'd add one vitamin at a time and see if you notice a difference. Phillipa
