But if you are depressed, it is hard to do. Believe me! My psychiatrist keeps tellin me to exercise, but I haven't been able to due my mood. It a catch-22 for sure.

I think some success with medications has to come first, then exercise for further improvement and maintenance, and therapy for long term personal growth and depression prevention.

I agree. My doctor put me on the Dexedrine hoping that it would motivate me to exercise. So far it hasn't. I am trying. I walk my dog for an hour at night which is something I guess. But I would like to be able to do more than a walk.

Exercise actually tends to make me feel worse, especially endurance cardio. That is disappoining b/c people write it up as the cure for depression. But one thing that has helped tremendously for anxiety is regular mindfulness medditation practice, that is the real deal. For me at least!
