Right now I am on Risperdal, which is very effective for feelings of anger and frustration. However, I feel it causes numbing of emotions and ability to feel pleasure. I should state that my anger stems from unresolved fears and anxieties. Is there any med that that is very effective for anger attacks, but does not cause numbed emotions?

maybe an anti-convulsant, like Lamictal? Talk therapy and self-help can also be quite helpful in dealing with these sorts of problems; they can work with the meds to help you get better results.
A different antipsychotic could also work. I personally couldn't deal with Risperdal (Bipolar I here), but Abilify controls my problems w/o the numbing and chemical straight jacket effect I got from the Risperdal. The dose of medication is also important; higher doses of neuroleptics often cause people to feel drugged and numbed, although individual results may vary.

Maybe Zoloft if you can tolerate SSRIs. Maybe a low dose of Lithium, 300 to 600 mg.
Whatever you try, you may want to consider trying New Chapter's Holy Basil, it's a pretty powerful mood modulating herb that has been known to be effective at treating anger.
Are you open to the idea of different forms of therapy. I have to believe the anger and related behavior is coming from somewhere. I do not believe we are just born with angry brains : )

I also have issues with rage due to PTSD. In the past I was taking celexa and lexapro. I found that lexapro was very good at calming anger, but for me it was too numbing so I stopped it.
I also tried topamax and got some interesting relief at a very low dose of 12.5mg. This may have been coincidence, a lack of stimulating situations to bring out the rage, etc.
One weird thing about topamax, I no longer want to eat french fries. Its like it did something permanent to my brain.

I would look for studies involving Tegretol (carbamazepine) or Trileptal (oxcarbazepine). These two drugs are molecular cousins, and may have similar efficacy However, Trileptal has reduced psychiatric and physical side effects.
When Zoloft first came out, it was noted to have anti-aggression effects. From what I can see Zoloft seems to have less propensity for producing a numbing effect among the SSRIs.
If it were me, with what you are looking to accomplish, I would try Trileptal first.
