Abilify Dosage

Posted by Christ_empowered on July 16, 2010, at 13:43:28

Hey everyone. I'm taking Abilify. For a while, I took 30mgs/day, then the dosage was reduced to 15mgs/day. Now I've put myself back on the 30mgs/day dosage b/c I'm going through a bit of a rough patch and I don't want to go "crazy". Also, I was off of the Abilify (personal choice; anti-meds phase) for a couple months, so I figured I should try a "loading dose" and then lower the dose down to a "maintenance dose". (In case you were wondering--I get my abilify tabs off the net for cheap; they're Indian generic 30mgs tabs, so I can adjust the dose as I see fit, although I consulted with a doc about going down to 15).

So, the question is: should I just stay at 30? I feel great--I'm more active, more focused, more positive, etc. I take lots of vitamins to help with anxiety and hopefully prevent TD. I don't have any neuroleptic-induced dysphoria, EPS, or noticeable cognitive impairment. I see a shrink about this in a couple weeks, and I'd like to have a game plan in place before I talk to him.

What do you all think?

I feel you made a wise choice to continue on your meds. Seriously was worried about you. Phillipa

I think if the abilify 30mg dose is working that well, to stick with it. I'm amazed that the vitamins counter the anxiety that well. But if it works, why not.

yeah, the vitamins help a lot with the anxiety...its kind of odd. Its not so much that I don't have my social phobia moments or near panic attacks, its just that they occur far less frequently and overall I feel better equipped to handle any anxiety that comes my way. I'm also thinking more clearly, which could be from any number of things or a combo of factors.
