Posted by Phillipa on June 24, 2010, at 13:10:42

Was my idea to try 5mg lexapro and 50mg luvox with the benzos for this anxiety or whatever. And still trying the doxycycline for what the infection doc said high lyme antibodies after all these years. Any help or thought would be appreciated. Phillipa

Some doctors might express concerns regarding serotonin syndrome as a consequence of combining SRI drugs. If you are to combine them, you should become familiar with the signs and symptoms of serotonin syndrome. Google.

How did you react to Paxil 20-40 mg?

I mentioned Serotonin syndrome to her she said don't worry about that it's not a problem lots mix meds she thought it was over rated. The docs would never put me on paxil as hight as 20mg cause of the anxiety. Had to stop the doxy Greg said stop as headaches this time since started. Also found out Daughter pregnant and long story but this stresses me greatly. Phillipa

Paxil is known to have a therapeutic effect when treating anxiety disorders. If you have never taken 20mg for an extended period of time, then I am unsure as to why you would disqualify it from further consideration.

I hope everything works out with family matters.

You could take 5mg Lexapro and 50mg Luvox together for a few days......then reduce Luvox to 25mg for a few days.......then stop Luvox. After a couple of weeks, you could increase Lexapro to 10mg. I think Lexapro might help your depression and anxiety but you'd have to give it a proper trial and not give up on it after a few days.

I do think that Lexapro might reduce your anxiety. It won't stop you feeling bored though, the best way to deal with that is to find new hobbies and to keep busy.
