Tonight talked with a friend and we got on her meds hadn't seen in a while she's taking pristiq and says she loves it. I said I hear it doesn't have great reviews. She quickly said that she knew four others on it and none had any negative side effects. Now I trust this lady. And it dawned on me my pdoc said she is taking pristiq also. So that says something to me. Maybe a lot on this board are tx resistant just wanted to let you know for some people these meds work great. I'm thinking of trying it when see pdoc Tuesday. Phillipa

Anyone able to figure out how to reduce the anxiety caused by it? I had pretty bad anxiety on this medication and it didn't go away in 3 weeks (still tense, then becoming more fatigue)

that's been an issue with pretty much every stimulating antidepressant every made. You could try a benzo--my vote would be for a high-potency one, like ativan or klonopin, but valium could be good, too (xanax is an option, too). You can also use neuroleptics ("atypical" and "conventional" antipsychotics can both be used for this purpose) in low doses for a while to smooth things out. I'd personally go for the bezo--much more pleasant and cheaper and easier to take--but both methods can kill off anxiety. The neuroleptic, though, might lead to akathisia...which might then require a benzo.
Good luck.
