I've been using 10mg Ambien for about 6 months now, but have depression as a sid effect. I've tried to w/d little by little, but I'm having horrible insomnia and anxiety. Someone told me that using a mood stabilzer, especially Depakote is a good way to go. Does anyone have experience with this or any other kind of suggestion?
Thanks
Chris

why not klonopin or lunesta or something that will just help you sleep
Depakoe can be an intense drug

Thanks E.R.
Lunesta does nothing for me. I'd be using the Depakote or even Seroquel for a few weeks only, till the worse side effects of the w/d have subsided. Thanks for the input.

Neurontin (gabapentin) is another anticonvulsant to be considered. I don't have any citations to literature that would support its use for treating Ambien withrawal. However, Neurontin might be better than Depakote as it has the ability to reduce anxiety and promote sleep.

Thanks Scott. Would you know the amount of Neurontin to use for 10mg Ambien?
