Hello people
I could sure use some advice with this problem i have, I take 700 mg of seroquel xr to deal with my partial bipolar depression and anxiety. For the most part the seroquel has relieved me of about 80% of my symptoms, but the worst part is i have a terrible time getting out of bed in the morning even tried to have a shower to wake up but did not work. My pdoc says we need to get onto another med so that we can back off on the seroquel. So we decided to try lamictal,i could not stand the lamictal side effects.I cannot take anti depresants so mpdoc suggested that we try abilify which would allow me to lower my dose of seroquel. My goal is to be stable with my depression and be able to get up in the early morning for work.Does anyone have any suggestions
god bless

If the seroquel works (other than morning grogginess) I would keep it.
Get a coffee maker with a timer and put it right next to your bed. Have the timer set to brew you some strong coffee right when you wake up.

I know what you mean about the sedation...it's pretty intense
I take the smallest possible dose right now (25mgs), and it still puts me out like it's an elephant dart
Whenever I increase the dose, the more sedation I have. I've never been on the "typically prescribed" dose, like you describe, I can only imagineI tried abilify a while back (at a regular sort of dose) and I was pretty anxious and uncomfortable on it. I hope it works better for you. Initially I really did like the abilify.
I hope it treats you well. I suppose it's worth a try right? If there's a chance you can minimize or eliminate the side effect, well why not?
but how will you cope during the switch? if it doesn't work out you can go back to the seroquel right?

What time do you take it?
Is this the lowest dose where you're getting the most relief? Did you ever take a lower dose? What was that like?
This is the end of the thread.
