I know I've posted this before, but this time of the year it nuts for me.
For the winter, I have chronic mild/moderate depression that I can manage.
Come the spring though, things just go haywire for me. Insomnia, super intense emotions, massive GAD, hyperactivity. Almost like rapid cycling. I don't know if its the shift in light.
Its this intense feeling like I am missing out on life and that I can't settle down cause theres stuff "I should be doing". The rebound sleep is accompanied by a horrible sinking death feeling.
I get some relief during the grey days. Things calm down a little.

Link spring and longer daylight is notorious for bipolar manic episodes. My deceased father in law went literally wacky every spring. Phillipa

Interesting. Have you tried keeping your blinds drawn, or wearing dark glasses? Those might be ways to artificially create dreary days.

Sounds like a circadian thing. A counselor told me she sees an increase in depression in the spring.
Personally, I feel like I "should" be outside doing stuff & being social. I hate the cold & love the sun- but with lack of motivation, anhedonia, and not enough activities to make myself go to, the longer days in summer are hard for me.
