Seroquel or Seroquel XL?

Posted by X-ray on March 8, 2010, at 7:15:37

Hi,

I'm going to try a new combo for sleep.
Mirtazapine + low dose Seroquel.

The appropiate dose might be 50 mg Seroquel.
Which form of this drug would suit me best?

Seroquel or Seroquel XR?

Best regards,
X-ray

Here's my new combo:
Wellbutrin XL 150 mg
Mirtazapine 45 mg
Seroquel 50 mg
Lyrica 25-50 mg
Buspirone 40 mg

Hi Phillipa,

It's good to hear from you.

I have a schizoid personality disorder, an avoidant personality disorder,
and an obsessive compulsive personality disorder.

I've been pestered by Elavil for 37 years,
but now I'm happy on a Wellbutrin/mirtazapine combo.

However, I would like to have a deeper sleep.
Mirtazapine isn't a perfect sleep aid, but I'm augmenting this drug with Lyrica.

Now I have this idea to add a small dose of Seroquel for better quality of sleep.

Seroquel was the sixth most sold drug in the U.S. 2008.
There must be a reason why this atypical antipsychotic has become so popular by Americans.

Best regards,
X-ray

I've heard that Seroquel XL is not sedating. I'd try that if I didn't need it for sleep, but I like regular Seroquel because I can't sleep without it.

Hi All,

Thank's for your replies!

I've had a great night's sleep.
The combo was Remeron 45 mg, Seroquel 25 mg, and Lyrica 25 mg.

Best regards,

Remeron + Seroquel gives too much sedation.
Now I've quit this combo for good.

Hi,

I'm on Remeron and Lyrica for sleep.
Wellbutrin gives me a lot of energy.
Buspar takes care of my anxiety.
Fluanxol has a stabilizing effect.

Best regards,
X-ray
