I took solian for negative symptoms and depression, which was efficient. But I hat to stop it due to excess of prolactine. And now I feel really depressed. I tried a med called dostinex to lower protactine but it counteracts solian and I had to stop it as well.
So does someone knows how to lower prolactine with an other way than dostinex (dostinex is an agonist of D2 receptors)
Solian seems to be the only neuroleptic which helps me.

Presumably other <Dopamine agonists would antagonise amisulpride; you could lower the dose or stop it and try:
Selegiline (Jumex) (patch Ensam)
Rasagiline ( very pricey)
Inhalable oxcytocin
GHB (difficult to get hold of, maybe pretend your a narcoleptic and get it prescribed as "Xyrem" and then use it only x2 a week as the stuff is downright addictive if used daily.no real side effects in low dose except the addiction problem)Solian is good, but tends to revert one to a more depressed state on discontinuation, not so good.

I totally agree with you. Solian is awesome. I am sitting here right now wondering which it will be that I start tomorrow...Solian, Parnate, or Milnacipran. I am weighing the side effects. Tough choices.
Prolactin is the one and only downfall of Solian.
I was studying Saw Palmetto/Pygeum supplements for prostate. Apparently saw palmetto lowers prolactin. I doubt however that it can lower it enough to counteract the power of Solian. We'll see.
I saw one study that said Abilify lowered Solain-induced prolactin, but another study it didn't. So the evidence is contradictory and inconclusive. I saw a study that bromocriptine lowered Solian-induced prolactin, and another study where it had no effect. Geez.
I know I could be feeling a whole lot better in just 3 days of Solian. Damn prolactin.
I hear ya. I wish I had an answer. I'm in the same boat as you.

looks like sex hormones may be involved, though i mostly came across studies that were negative, like this http://apt.rcpsych.org/cgi/reprint/4/1/53.pdf
uh, and maybe also opioids: http://content.karger.com/ProdukteDB/produkte.asp?Doi=96825

I thought the studies were interesting because not only did amisulpride outperform placebo by a wide margin, but it also had a lot fewer dropouts than placebo. With most meds, the difference between med efficacy and placebo isn't huge, and dropouts are worse in the med group.
This is the end of the thread.
