I had solian 100mg for negative symptoms and depression. This med was efficient, but I have to stop it due to protactine excess.
I would like to know if I take an other neuroleptic, for example afilify or else, do I have to take it at normal dose or low dose like solian ?
thank you

Abilify, most likely low dose. 1mg to 5 mg per day. Split pills if needed. But this med has more variability from person to person, so you have to feel it out. You may need only a tiny dose or you may end up on something like 10mg or higher. No way to tell. Generally speaking, people seem to feel abilify is more stimulating in very low doses and more blunting at higher doses.

neuroleptics are not much help for negative symptoms, except in comparison to conventional antipsychotics, which worsen them. amisulpride/supride help, and clozapine as well. a small amount of risperdone might help slightly when added to amisulpride, though this probably would not add much

well i did try risperidone & abilify and found the former ok in small dose, the latter with no effect in small dose, and large dose quite unpleasant for both.
but i was referring to studies. They often have 'improvement' compared to an elephant-traqualizer dose of haldol. such as http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7545060.
