I was prescribed nuvigil last week and thought it was the answer to my prayers. I felt very good but last Sunday it fell as if the rug was pulled out from under me. I take it in the mornings and can still function at work but when I come home I am a complete mess. I hope it is due to PMS and things will get back to normal.
Why can't I get a break?ihatedrugs

Jeez, that really stinks. Provigil sometimes has a better result--really, people have reported this. Isn't it preferred? They're different.
Good luck hanging in there

hm, i think modafinil is one of the drugs that causes and increase in the enzyme that metabolizes it, so the dose you find helpful in first few days may not be quite enough long term

Hi:
Sorry you're having so many disappointments.
Nuvigil didn't work at all for me either, not even a day.
Provigil works very well though and has for many months. You might want to give it a try!
Good luck!

Actually, I guess it was just a case of bad PMS because as soon as I got my period, everything went back to normal. Go figure. It has been working for the past couple weeks. So we'll see. It actually works better than any antidepressant I have taken. I actually have energy for a change.
Anyways my doctor will most likely write me a prescription for Provigil and not Nuvigil since my insurance will not cover Nuvigil. She just gave me samples to see how I did using this type of meds which I had never used before. I was strictly a AD patient. So far so good. I just hope that when I change to Provigil I get the same beneficial effects.
Thanks to all and hope you are doing well.
