Who would have thought my lack of motivation really was chemical? (Well either that or there is some serious placebo effect going on).
I'm going to the Y everyday and I'm actually waking up in the morning now. Instead of sleeping 20 hours a day I sleep about 8 hours now.
I started feeling the urge to do something other than sleep about a week after my increase in Prozac from 40 mg to 60 mg.
I've decided to join Weight Watchers and I want to make friends with the people there! I'm actually feeling social!
I'm going to look for a job too!

Sweet! Good for you! I've notice the same thing to which is why I have restarted prozac. I don't think I could handle that high a dose though.
Just curious, How long were you on 40mgs before you increased the dose? How long have you been on it all together?

Deneb that's great. I'm starting to think prozac is the elusive magic pill. And the very first SSRI wasn't it? Phillipa

I was on 40 mg Celexa, 40 mg Prozac and 0.75 mg Risperdal for years. Then my motivation went away. I convinced pdoc that the SSRI's were giving me apathy so she started decreasing my Celexa, first to 35 mg then to 20 mg.
I seemed to be just getting worse with the decreases.
Then pdoc increased my Prozac to 60 mg and it has been almost 2 weeks now. At first she was just going to increase my Celexa back to 40 mg, but then I said then I'll just be back at my starting point. Then she decided increasing the Prozac instead was worth a try because it is stimulating.
I had been sleeping about 15 hours a day previously so I needed stimulation.

Deneb, that's great! Prozac was the only SSRI that worked for me. I wish you continued success.

How long have you been taking Prozac and what has been your experience with side effects so far? I just started 3 and a half weeks ago and just bumped up to 50(I'm actually on Symbyax for the time being, 50 mg Prozac and 6 mg Zyprexa, this may change to 2.5 mg Zyprexa and 40 mg Prozac, and then to 40 or 60 mg Prozac and no Zyprexa).
It is encouraging to hear you noticed such a profound difference in the jump from 40 to 60 mg.
