My PDOC is retiring and to make matters worse, they practically kicking his patients out the door due to capacity issues. I'm not kidding, they telling people to go somewhere else.... I am seeing him one more time. The whole thing really stinks. Anyone ever have to deal with this before? Some of meds are off label and I take a benzo... so I have to look for a PDOC that is into watching the research and isn't a benzo phobe...

Welcome to my world. Yes same thing in a way. Last March my pdoc who I have to drive all day back and forth to see as not a benzo phobe got in a car accident and still isn't allowed to prescribe has to go before the medical board and prove competency. She's over 72 not young but incredibly motivated to get back to working. I've been seeing her Physicians Assistant during all this time. And stock piling benzos should her practice close. I do emphathize with you it's so unsettling. What state you in I'm NC and where I am all benzophobes. Love Phillipa

Can you get a referral from him--tell him your concerns that your med regime continue w/o interruption. I would think that would be an ethical duty on his part. Don't hesitate to be frank (if you are not already) and get enough script to see you through any possible delay in finding another suitable doc.
And yes, it stinks. I'm sorry.

That's awful. I will be faced with the same thing soon as my pdoc is 87! There is no one to take his place and there is a shortage of pdocs where I live.
I really feel for you.
