Meds For Arthritis and Post Op Pain?

Posted by bulldog2 on October 26, 2009, at 14:23:54

I'm not talking about nerve pain such as the type that neurontin is good for.

I'm talking about more general pain such as post op pain and arthritis type pain.I'm also weaning myself off of percocet which isn't helping matters.

I'm also thinking about restarting an AD combo for atypical depression.Let me list some combos I thought might help but feel free to list others.

1. parnate + low dose nortriptyline
2. parnate + low dose amitriptyline

Also are there any safe anti inflammatories that can be used long term?

I found Nortript to be a great pain reliever, probably the best efficacy I've ever felt.

With arthritis pain, I think it makes sense to take things another step. Go beyond mere pain relief and get to the cause of the pain. Which is inflammation. Which means something is irritating the tissues. That is more and more showing up to be an infectious agent and/or a confused immune system that is attacking friendly tissue. So immune modulators and antimicrobials can provide huge benefits for arthritis. They are mostly in the herbal category, so probably most people I guess would probably not be interested in that.

Why not open up this issue in alternative medicine section. Pain and arthritis are big issues in our society. I would be interested. But maybe we have to separate the two categories and discuss them in their appropriate sections.

To much energy is being wasted in this section in this alt med versus prescription medicine battle.
