Geodon is great for depression as it has seratonin/norepenephrine reuptake inhibition qualities. It does hit histamine receptors, so it can cause sedation-this is not a problem for me, as I have oodles of anxiety from my OCD and epilepsy. As for weight gain, I have actually lost 8 pounds since being on it.
Solian is a medication I've only taken at a 100 mg dose and it has different properties at that dose than the 400 mg dose prescribed to treat psychosis. All I can say is Solian makes me feel high as a kite at 100 mg-I feel very jolly, which is a far different effect than that of Abilify or Geodon.

Solian seems like a great drug. You can find the balance between antipsychotic and antidepressant, and there is little weight gain. The prolactin elevation should'nt very troubling for men either. Of course you can never be sure if a drug works before you try it.
Good to get that sorted out. I'll have to persuade my doctor next. I hate waiting...
