i am in ottawa, no one seems to have a stock in it. calling bristol myers squibb, they said that pharmacies are having to order directly from the manufacturer at this point?
does anyone know any pharmacy that has done this, or just plain has some aripiprazole (abilify) in stock?
i can get to montreal easily (2hrs, blue greyhound pass with 10 more trips on it), toronto if i really have to (5hrs, w/ no pass wit prepaid trips on it.)

Jan Drugs, a Manitoba licensed CIPA approved Canadian Pharmacy lists Abilify in its formulary, e.g.But I believe that you cannot ship from Canada to Canada or just about any country to Canada. Yup. Ask Customs Canada....
But looking at information at the Medicine Shoppe chain web site for example, it already is in its list of summary drug side effects, etc.
Now whether its actually in stores, who knows.
Things usually take a month to several months from PI announcements on company websites to actual full stock in pharmacies in the US.
Probably just have to wait a bit longer. I don't know that its worth taking a long busride from the NCR is it ?

I can't answer your question but, hey, come to Montreal and visit me! :-)
Why don't you call a few Pharmaprix in Montreal. Pharmaprix is the French version of your Shoppers Drug Mart.
You would think that there would already be drug reps handing the stuff out to doctors already.
Let us know if you find it.

I had the same experience with Zeldox, when it just came out...and it was like nobody knew about the drug. Even 4-5 months after it's release here in Canada. I live down in the Niagara region.
But, when Cymbalta was released here, my doc had samples within a few weeks of it's release! I hope they approve Abilify here (like in the U.S.) for use as an add-on for depression. I think that would make the drug much more popular.
I asked my pharmacist a few days ago if she knew anything about Abilify, and she had no clue. I imagine a Shopper's Drug Mart might be a better chance to try. The thing about all of these new drugs, is that they are not on the Trillium formulary (Trillium is a program here in Ontario that provides drug coverage for people in lower or modest incomes.) But, I think we are kind of lucky here in Canada, in that Rx drugs aren't near the price they are in the States. Still, they are pricey. A 30 day supply of generic 10mg Zyprexa is just over 300 dollars.
