I'm going to crossover from 20 mg Paxil to 100 mg Luvox. I posted earlier and had only two replies. I always have a hard time starting a new med. I'm hoping it will go smoothly.
I've heard that you shouldn't drink coffee but I can't find it in the literature the pharmacist gave me. He even printed out another pamphlet and we couldn't see anything there either.
Any info would be appreciated. Good, bad??
Thanks..

Seriously first dose should be 50mg if tolerate well. Then 50am & 50pm. If okay then 50am and l00pm. Largest dose always at night. As for the coffee they said one cup is equal to 6 cups of coffee on luvox. If you google drug checker and put in your meds all of them or just luvox you should see the potentiation. Same with valium and xanax potentiates them not ativan or klonopin. Good luck Love Phillipa

Web MD Phillipa ps think crazy meds says equal to 6 cups of coffee????
his medication can increase the side effects of caffeine. Avoid drinking large amounts of beverages containing caffeine (coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts of chocolate
Also I drink tea and eat 7 chochoclate truffles at night and no problems.

A reasonable coffey consumption is ok.
Try to avoid in the evening hours if you see it causes you insomnia. You will find out what effect the coffey has on you while you're on Luvox and adjust the dosage of the coffein to your needs.
If it were sooo dangerous to combine them it would be mention in the prescribing information.
I was on Luvox and was drinking coffey and nothing happened to me.
Everyone is different but you shouldn't worry to much about it.

Thanks Jan and Helena..my pdoc felt that as I was at 20 mg of Paxil, the switch to 100 of luvox would be OK and I'm to take the Luvox at night..I'm just worried it's going to make me as apathetic as the Paxil has this go-round. ARGGG.
Thanks to both of you for replying to this post. Pretty sad tho..two posts for help and only two replies from the same two posters..
Thanks again to you both!

I know. Well at least I have used this med for many years. If it's any consolation. Seriously no apathy from luvox. But as Helena said we're all different
