Does anyone take Tegretol as their mood stabilizer? Anyone take the extended version? Do you take any other meds with it?
My doc gave me samples of Equetro (extended Tegretol) in 100mg and 200mg capsules. Wants me to start slow since I am "med sensitive".
Took 100mg last night, didn't really notice anything except for a little stomach gurgling (but I can stand to lose some weight).
She wants me to go slow and try it every other night, then every night, then go up to 200mg at night in order to avoid side effects. But I'm wondering if I really need to go that slow because I really didn't notice anything?
I didn't take my 50mg of Seroquel last night, just my .5mg Klonopin. I did toss and turn a little. I thought Tegretol would have knocked me out more.
Is it ok to take Tegretol, Seroquel and Klonopin together? My doc thinks that eventually I can stop the Seroquel.

Sheila google drug checker it allows you to enter all your meds and will report any interractions. Used to be the first on a google search. Phillipa

Hi Sheila,
My two cents: go up slowly per doc's advice. You are med sensitive.
good luck

Good luck with the test run. I would go slowly as per doctor's orders since you are so med sensitive.

Sheila,Best wishes on your Equetro trial. Please keep us apprised of your progress.
Personally speaking, when I conduct a med trial I keep all of my other meds constant. This approach allows me the opportunity to delineate the effects of the trial med from any withdrawal effects caused by changing one of my other meds.
