Nicotine for non smokers

I chew nicotine gum sometimes and I'm a non smoker. I do it for appetite suppression but I read it improves depression too.

Anyone try nicotine?

I actually don't like nicotine at all, it makes my heart race, gives me a head rush and makes me nauseous.

How are you chewing the gum? I think you're only supposed to chew it like 3 times and then "park" it in the side of your mouth. Why not search for safter alternatives? People have passed out from not chewing the gum properly!

I think I am chewing it correctly. I chew it a bit to soften it up and then put it under my tongue for a while. Then I chew again and park it again. I chew the lower dose 2mg gum. I don't chew it very often. I've discovered I don't like how it makes me feel.

I've read nicotine calms smokers and makes them feel good, but for non smokers it gives them a head rush and most don't like it. I did read depression got better though, but it was a small sample of people.

Coffee suppresses my appetite too, but it also makes me anxious.

i have quit smoking, but really enjoy the nicorette despite the fact that ive quit the smoking habit. i just take one little bite and park the gum and let it slowly dissolve in my mouth. i only need to chew abougt 3 pieces a day. one piece of gum will last me several hours. i enjoy the way i feel when i have a nicorette parked in my mouth!!
