Hmmm...Pristiq or cocaine?

Posted by Phil on July 22, 2009, at 23:38:03

I've been on Pristiq for 2 weeks, 50mg(along with Lithium, Lamictal, Clonazepam)

I was real depressed yesterday like I was walking thru waist deep mud. I missed two psych appts.

Last night I was up till 5:30 a.m., got 1.5 hours sleep and here it is almost midnight. Before this I could easily sleep 14 hours a day. I feel better though, so that's good.

I'm not complaining but wonder WTF?

Any similar experiences?

Thanks

So what you are saying is that you are having mood swings even while taking the pristiq consistently.

Or, are you saying that you have been depresed and the sleep deprivation has produced an improvement in mood?

Has the pristiq given you insomnia fairly consistently since starting it?

I think the combination of the Lamictal and Pristiq could be the culprit..... I got insomnia from Lamictal and found it was much worse when combined with any of the SSRI's or SNRI's...... Try lowering the lamictal? I have found the Pristiq to be more fatiguing than anything but defnitely helping with anxiety and depression..... But I am no longer taking a mood stabilizer......

FM, do you think pristiq has mood stabilizing properties?

hmmm...mood stabilizing? probably not for most,... but for me (combined with a benzo) it is calming the anxiety so is helping to stabilize my mood....

Getting off Pristiq now!!

It may be a great med for some but its made me nuts. Wyeth products aren't my friend.

Pharm companies were the highest profit industry in America..may still be. Other industries would kill for the margins these bottom feeders make.

No wonder, they soak Americans and give it away to other countries.

I guess if I was in Congress, my sole purpose for being there would be full out, non-stop investigations of these people.

But, I digress. lol

Phil--hope your withdrawal is quick and painless--you've been on two months now? Or less?

Have you withdrawn from effexor? Maybe you saw the thread recently on withdrawing from these brutes. I was thinking about it myself and wanted help.

good luck
