Hi Linkadge.
Would taking lithium at 150mg produce the same neurotrophic and neuroprotective effects that the higher dosages do?
Thanks.

In reply to Linkadge - low dosage lithium: BDNF and bcl-2 ?, posted by SLS on July 14, 2009, at 5:45:34
I believe so.
I think there was a study by Dr. Manjii which suggested that even with low doses increased BCL-2 levels significantly. Not sure about BDNF or the neurotrophic capacity.
He recomends that even people who do not "respond" to lithium to take low doses longer term in hopes that it may reduce or reverse disease progression.
