When should I expect any benefits like improved mood/energy? Anyone have any positive experiences with this drug? I tried to get my doctor to prescribe Mirapex but he fervently denied, saying it was only indicated for restless leg syndrome.

You should notice an improvment in energy in the first week. The improved mood comes later ... it varies by each individual. I hope it works for you!
And that is a load of BS about Mirapex. It is indicated for depression.
