Hello
I'm BP NOS. I've been prescribed Seroquel for sleep and it works great. Only problem is I feel lethargic the whole day and sometimes I have feelings of hostility. I've only been taking 12.5 mg a night. In the late afternoon, I take 4mg of Valium. Would Trazodone or some other sleep med be a better pick for me.
Thanks

I take both remeron and seroquel at bedtime. I took the remeron first and found it a great sleep med. I take 45mg because I am also using it as an AD but people here have mentioned doses as low as 7.5mgs. Trazodone gave me a terrific headache and hangover. Everyone is different but remeron might be worth checking out.

I tried low dose Remeron for a couple of days, and had very vivid nightmares. I stopped taking it for that reason. I'm only taking 12.5 Seroquel and it works well, as I said, but lethargy and motivation go out the window for me. Maybe if I added and AD, but I'm afraid of hypomania. What a mess. I'll be getting some Trazodone today, so I can compare the two.

I've had vivid hypnagogic events upon waking but I didn't actually find them completely frightening, they were sort of curious. The NE effects works against me now though, but at the time it was actually interesting. Sorry it didn't work.

12.5mg is an extremely low dose of Seroquel, non-clinical and just antihistaminic basically.

Trazodone is one that can be gotten "used to", say at 25-50mg, and then having to go up to as high as 150 before having to chase the cycle again, but that is just my experience. Its not critical, you can back down and readjust.
Personally of the three I found Trazodone to be the 'yuckiest' to go to sleep by, I don't know...
I think its a good idea to already be in bed because there's a chance one could be still in distance of the fridge and I recall it can cause such cravings, not to mention unpleasant lightheadedness.

I have been thinking about a Remeron/Seroquel combo for sleep myself.
So I would like to know what dose of Seroquel do you take at bedtime.Best regards,
