High Alcohol Tolerance on Meds?

Posted by alchemy on June 13, 2009, at 0:20:59

I don't drink that much, and not to get drunk. My friends who drink much more often than I do can have an effect with 1/4 less. I've heard that anti-depressants can lower alcohol tolerance, but I haven't heard about increasing it.

My tolerance is lowered with meds. Makes me, at rare times, a cheap quick drunk.

Are you taking anything for ADD?

Stimulants like Ritalin/Adderal will definitely increase your tolerance....

As for normal SSRI ADs usually they tend to decrease your tolerance....

Interesting, I didn't know stimuulants would do it.
I take: Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Celexa, & Xanax. I just increased my Wellbutrin...?
And btw, it is not a weight issue :)
