I have been reading on a drug mentioned here at times.BACOFLEN,on wikipedia it has a very nice profile,it is about the only medication that actualy affects the ghb receptor.
I think the issue with it being of value in mood is a lot has to be taken,i just took the highest dose and feel pretty serine and calm, but im not gonna jump any wagon too fast.
I recomend a look up of its properties, then perhaps play around with it using keywords such as bacoflen for mood, bacoflen for bi polar, bacoflen for rage etc.
I checked drug interactions and has none with benzos or maois.
Im just intrigued as its one of the only meds i know that hit gaba b as well as the ghb receptor .

Sounds interesting, although some doctors may be not be very willing to prescribe it as it's not indicated for any type of mental illness.
Saying that, many doctors prescribe antipsychotics for anxiety / depression when they're not indicated for such.

I'd seriously discuss it with a pdoc first. I was prescribed it for my back and it can actually cause hallucinations, mood swings and depression so please, do be careful. I had horrid dreams and mild hallucination but beware of the bed wetting warning. I was away visiting friends interstate and nearly wet the bed twice. Here's a link to an Australian Patient Information sheet. It does have interactions with some meds you mentioned, good luck, peace C

Hi shasling
This didn't work for me but was prescribed by my pdoc for help with muscle spasms related to my stress, ittitability, and depression..... So, there is a pdoc out there who knows about how to use it ... hope this helps

i think you've got that backwards, ghb affects gabab receptors, but baclofen doesn't affect ghb receptors
