I started zoloft (up to 100 mg) w/wellbutrin sr 150 about seven weeks ago for moderate-severe depression and anxiety. Brutal diarrhea for six of those weeks until doc finally ruled out everything but the zoloft as a cause. Six weeks of diarrhea is no fun. :)
He gave me 10 mg of lexapro today and told me to start it immediately. I was under the impression that stepping down from zoloft and ramping up on something else was the way to go? Anyway, anybody have experience moving from zoloft + wellbutrin to lexapro + wellbutrin? Just wondering what the substantive differences are between zoloft and lexapro (not side effects, but positive effects).
Thanks!!!!

Seems more pdocs are starting slowly to avoid sides effects so the patient can tolerate better. Phillipa

I have made this shift successfully. My experience is that Zoloft is a little more powerful, but that Lexapro is way better in terms of sex drive. I had zero on 100 mg of Zoloft and quite a lot on 50 mg of Zoloft + 20 of Lexapro.
