Interesting as on Dr Phil opiod addict was on suboxone and he had to keep increasing dose and the addition specialist very well known said that's because your brain is sick and needs time to heal and suboxone will heal it. Is there not a med like this for benzos and what's your take on the opiod and healing the brain? Phillipa

Suboxone does not "heal" anything; the brain
heals itself. This language is misleading
and disingenuous, though; "stabilize" is a far
more accurate description of what's going on.A _conceptually_ analogous drug for benzodiazepines
would be a benzodiazepine receptor partial agonist.http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1910153

Phillipa;Suboxone is a kappa opiod. I have happened to use it to lower my benzo dose, by substituting the Suboxone for the benzo, then lowering the suboxone, which is much easier to lower than the benzo. I'm speaking from personal experience.
