I take 300mgs of gapapentin with every dose of provigil. It takes the edge off for me.

Don't you get any tolerance to the Gabapentin?

Zana, I was just looking at your other posts-you take all kind of other stuff too, so I guess I couldn't really make a comparison there. :-)

Yeah, that's true.
But I do take the provigil and the gabapentin together and I'm sure the gabapentin makes a difference in the amount of anxiety I feel.

It really brightens my mood, makes me a little hypomanic maybe, expansive, I want to talk to people, get out of the house, all the things I don't normally feel when I am normally depressed.
It definitely picked me up in a way the seroquel+remeron did not. Wothout the seroquel and remeron would the provigil put me through the roof? just make me anxious or agitated? I don't know but I have taken it on and off for years with very different meds. It always picks me up. It's not perfect. It has a short half life and a nasty sort of crash -the gabapentin helps with that. Once it wears off, without other meds I am depressed. But I think it is a med worth trying if you are depressed even with anxiety.
Hope this helps.

i took provigil for awhile instead of adderall. it made me super-focused to the point of sitting in one spot working on one thing for hours without taking breaks or getting food. to the extent that it heightened my concentration so much, i would say that it didn't make me more social or happy. at the same time, though, i wasn't depressed or anything while i was on it. i have a lot of anxiety issues, so i took xanax while i was on provigil, as i do now with other meds. i don't remember being especially anxious from the provigil, though. in the end, i went back to adderall because, even though it improves my attention, it doesn't narrow my perspective so much that i'm unaware or don't care about what's going on around me. but maybe provigil will work for you?

Yes Zana that helps, thanks. I don't think I need something for mood though. I don't feel depressed at all, so I wonder if it would make me get mania. Well I have another 2 weeks until I go back to my doctor to look into stuff.

That's exactly what I want!! I need concentration not happiness or more sociability. But someone said its expensive?

It's been awhile since i took provigil... in any case, though, i don't believe it's available yet as a generic in the US. if your insurance covers it, the cost may be manageable, also depending on whether it's a preferred drug in the formulary or not. i got the 200mg pills and either took half or a whole pill.

it is not marketed in the US. i've tried it, like most things, didn't notice much, but seemed generally positive, no side effects.
