well, it has been almost a year now. Effexor did wonders for my depression, but now I am 22 lbs heavier, starving myself, and working out to an obsessive 2 hours daily 5 days a week, with feelings of fear during the two days that I don't work out because of the continuing weight gain. it's like a bad steven king story.
I'm going to make the switch to lamictal on my pdoc's recommendation. what a bummer :(

It's too bad you have to switch but I think docs way underestimate the weight issue, I mean it's hard to feel good when you feel fat. It's just culturally so ingrained in all of us. I think it is almost impossible to ignore. And it's a health risk. It's a really terrible trade off to have to make.
That's what I think.

well, the reason why it is an issue for me is because i recently had surgery for a blood clot in my leg, and any additional weight is putting strain on my leg and I really don't want to have any additional strains especially if i am doing my part to stay healthy.
so it's not really a vanity thing, its a very health oriented thing.
im really concerned about the whole medication switch thing, it makes me stress out :(
