Cox-2 increase by lithium might be responsible for kidney damage.

cox-2 inhibition helps in short term, didn't see anything about preventing it, but seem to be same thing.

other than cox-2 inhibitors or gerneal cox inhibitors, balance of fat intake w-3/w-6 ratio is important.

Weren't all the Cox2 inhibitors taken off the market? I don't think you can get Celebrex and the others anymore . Not sure though. Arthritis was their target audience so how does lithium fit in the mix? Phillipa

well if you don't mind inhibiting cox-1 you can take some aspirin. I was just posting this for anyone who is on significant dose of lithium, something to think about to keep kidneys healthy.
