Has anyone had to get pre-authoriztion for pristiq? I'm seeing an new pdoc this afternoon and want to suggest that we try it. I hope I don't have to wait a couple of weeks for paper work....

can you ask for samples just in case you would have to wait?
sorry not that much help. but i haven't actually had to get a script.
my doc is able to keep me in supply using samples.

for me EVERYTHING was different.
i responded HORRIBLY to effexor.
had Extreme rapid cycling, extreme depression and mania everyother day, constant feeling of numb, or out of it. felt unreal. couldnt' focus, messed with my sleep cycles...etc.
tried several different doses before i finally got off it and put on zyprexa.anyway, i was scared to try pristiq cuz everyone was saying it was just a patent extender or effexor, metabolite of the former.
but my options were VERY limited, so i figured i'd give it a try.bad part is it took (for me) really about 10 weeks (8-10) before i felt level on it.
but once it worked. i was feeling myself.
