Not yet but I'm planning on trying galantamine (the supplement and/or the medication) sometime in the near future. Supposedly less side effects than the other meds in this class and also some reports of it helping with motivation.

Hi Linkadge
I took memantine/Namenda a few years back as part of a drug study (not for any mental type illness though). I found it to have quite noticeable 'calming' properties as well as appearing to have an antidepressant effect. I was also taking 60mg Prozac at the time.
I found memantine made me quite light headed and dizzy at times; however, I later read on the net that fluoxetine and memantine can interact although I haven't read this anywhere since.
If I had the chance I would definitely like to give memantine another go. I hope it gets licensed for depression/anxiety one day.

I hope it gets licensed for depression/anxiety one day.just to clarify, while both are used for alzheimers, memantine is an nmda antagonist/5ht3 antagonist nicotinic (alpha7 i think) antagonist. ACHEi are something different.

There's galantamine and there's huperzine.
I don't know anything about the differences and have not tried either.
I have tried piracetam and aniracetam and they both felt like a bit of a strain.

I've only tried huperzine A (through OTC supplements) on several occasions, but never experienced anything noticeable, even at like 200 mcg. Very disappointing. I never tried it for more than a few days continuously however.
I've wanted to try galantamine augmentation for years now but have still not gotten around to getting any.
